Economics Faculty students from Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited Wahaaj International EXPO.

Around 45 students from the economics faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited the International EXPO on September 25, 2024.This visit gave our students the necessary awareness about the growing industrial sector of the country. The students had the opportunity to recognize various industrial products such as: agriculture, technology, traditional handicrafts and artworks of Afghan artists. Students were able to see the talent and creativity of Afghan entrepreneurs and the quality of their products. The International Exhibition was jointly organized by the directorate of industry and commerce of Nangarhar Province and Wahaaj organization in Jalalabad city. The exhibition last for 3 days Sep 24-26, 2024. Around 150 local and regional companies presented their products and services in this exhibition where most of them were the local companies from around the country. More than 5000 people visited this international EXPO. The aim of this exhibition was to showcase the capabilities of the economic spectrum of society, unveiling new products and productions, increasing demand, and creating economic and production coordination among economic actors at the country and regional level. The presence of influential parties, especially the mining industry, agriculture, technology, electrical equipment, plastic industry, food industry, handicrafts, medical equipment and spices, private education sectors and other products of national and international producers, along with the fields of cooperation to increase and bring the insight of investors and economic drivers at the national and international level.  ‘’As part of its commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education understands the importance of education outreach activities beyond the campus’’ said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, the Dean of Economics Faculty at ATIHE.

Al-Taqwa University Ranked in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Al-Taqwa University is ranked by the Times Higher Education Impact Raking 2024 for its commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan. On June 12, 2024, The Times Higher Education (THE) published the Impact Rankings 2024, recognizing global universities for their efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With more than 2150 universities from 100 countries submitting data across the 17 SDGs, The THE's Impact Rankings is the most accurate and biggest ever picture of universities' Impacts in the areas of research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching for the SDGs. In the overall ranking, Al-Taqwa University has ranked 1001-1500 world's leading universities. In the SDGs ranking, Al-Taqwa University is ranked 401-600 out of 1093 universities for SDG 1: No Poverty, 401-600 out of 1681 universities for SDG 4: Quality Education, 600+ out of 741 universities for SDG 15: Life on Land, 801-1000 out of 1086 universities for SDG 16: Peace Justice & Strong Institutions, and 1501+ out of 2031 universities for SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Faculty of Economics Arranges a Study Tour to Intercontinental Hotel

The Faculty of Economics organized a study tour to the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul on May 8, 2024. The purpose of the study tour was to meet with the hotel leadership, better understand the hotel’s policies, plans, and exchange ideas and recommendations. Students learned about the hotel management and the overall operation of the Intercontinental Hotel (the only 5 star hotel) in Kabul, Afghanistan. They met with the heads of various hotel’s departments and had a question and answer session regarding the 5 star hotel management in the country. "We thank the executive board of the intercontinental hotel for assisting such an opportunity for our students to come and meet with the heads of different departments at the hotel and give them a practical and experiential tour to improve their insight into tourism and managing a 5 star hotel," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean of Economics Faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education. Economics Faculty students have attended several study tours to the related national and international organizations and have learned essential topics related to their field of study. All in all, the study tour was efficient and useful for students in maintaining a good practical experience from the site and going forward to improving their abilities. Students described the field visit quite useful and thanked the economics faculty leadership for arranging such interesting study-tours for its students. Meanwhile, the leadership of the Economics Faculty promised to further enhance practical learning approaches for its students. At the end, Mr. Wojohullah “Amin”, head of BBA department at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education thanked the hotel management for their cooperation in facilitation of the tour. Faculty of Economics Arranges a Study Tour to Ministry of Industry and Commerce

The Faculty of Economics organized a study tour to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on May 8, 2024. The purpose of the study tour was to meet with the Ministry's leadership, better understand the Ministry's policies, plans, and exchange ideas and recommendations on advancing the Ministry's strategic objectives towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: sustainable economic growth and SDG 1: poverty reduction in Afghanistan. Students learned about Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), import and export strategies, strategy-making steps, national and international investments, and human resources management during this tour. They met with the heads of various ministry departments and had a question and answer session regarding industry and commerce in Afghanistan with the relevant departments.   "We thank the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for giving such an opportunity for our students to come and meet with the heads of different departments at this ministry and give them a practical and experiential tour to improve their insight into industry and commerce," said Dr. Sayed Abdul Moiz, Dean of Economics Faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education.  Economics Faculty students have attended several study tours to the related national and international organizations and have learned essential topics related to their field of study. All in all, the study tour was efficient and useful for students in maintaining a good practical experience from the site and going forward to improving their abilities. Economics Faculty students from Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited Afghan-Kazakh International EXPO.

Around 50 students from the economics faculty at Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education visited the International EXPO on April 25, 2024.This visit gave our students the necessary awareness about the growing industrial sector of the country. The students had the opportunity to recognize various industrial products such as: agriculture, technology, traditional handicrafts and artworks of Afghan artists. Students were able to see the talent and creativity of Afghan entrepreneurs and the quality of their products.   The International Exhibition was jointly organized by the ministry of industry and commerce of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in Kabul. The exhibition last for 2 days April 25-26, 2024. Around 200 local and regional companies presented their products and services in this exhibition where most of them were the local companies from around the country. More than 50000 people visited this international EXPO where 30% of the visitors were the female including university students. The aim of this exhibition was to showcase the capabilities of the economic spectrum of society, unveiling new products and productions, increasing demand, and creating economic and production coordination among economic actors at the country and regional level. The presence of influential parties, especially the mining industry, agriculture, technology, electrical equipment, plastic industry, food industry, handicrafts, medical equipment and spices, private education sectors and other products of national and international producers, along with the fields of cooperation to increase and bring the insight of investors and economic drivers at the national and international level. "We know the importance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for our students.
